On Cruise Ship

Travel Jobs and hard working
Whatever ship you secure work on, one thing is for sure is that you will have a superb time and meet friends for life from all corners of the world. Your fellow staff and tourists onboard will come from wide and varied backgrounds sharing their feel good sensation with you within the settings of the most beautiful parts of the world.

What other job offers the chance to go ashore and visit world renown beaches and resorts all around the world such as Hawaii, Caribbean, Alaska, bahamas, or to Europe like a UK, France, Monaco Turkey

Do not forget that you are staff and working onboard is also hard work, where the pace is quick, the hours can be long and at the end of the day you do not go home. Storage space in crew quarters can also be limited, so we recommend that everyone pack light. All crew quarters are different, but typically an employee can expect to have a small locker and a couple of drawers in which to store belongings.

You may be a long distance from family but keeping in touch is easy due to most cruise ships now having internet cafes, satellite phones and a postal service. If you feel a phone call is the best way it is cheapest to use payphones in ports where the ship will be docked on average 3-4 times per week.
Finally just close your eyes and picture yourself walking along the deck with the warm sun in your face, whether carrying drinks or bringing sun glasses for a paying guest you will only then comprehend the distance you are from the worldly turmoil of daily life.

Salaries

Big Salary on cruise ship Job
Wages on Cruise Ships
Cruise ship staff is divided into two main groups: tipping personnel & non-tipping personnel.
Tipping personnel
Tipping personnel are the staff with direct contact with the guests who pay them "tips". There are specified amounts of tips per particular positions which are advised to guests prior to embarkation and which vary from one cruise line to another. Such personnel are waiters, busboys /assistant waiters, bar waiters/waitresses, bartenders, cocktail waitresses, etc.
Salary scales typically range from $1200 U.S. dollars - $2500 U.S. dollars per month. Restaurant and house staff can expect $350 - $700 per week due to wages linked to tips.
Tipping personnel have a small base salary. Most of their earnings are tips. Approximate sample earnings in this group are (in U.S. Dollars per month):
Waiter from $1000 to $2500
Busboy / Assistant Waiter from $1500 to $3000
Bar Waiter / Waitress from $1000 to $2500
Bartender from $1500 to $3000
The applicant must have a good command of English, good work experience and appropriate education to qualify for this group (the latter is not obligatory if the applicant has enough experience).

Non-tipping personnel
Applicants who do not have enough experience or do not have a very good command of English tend to be hired as non-tipping staff. They have a good chance of being promoted to tipping personnel later.
The non-tipping personnel on cruise ships are those who serve the crew, i.e. the lower positions in the passenger area - Staff Waiter/Waitress, Snack Steward, etc. They have fixed salaries without tips and their earnings are from USD 350 to USD 500 per week.
