POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Entertainment Technician – Lounge
All Carnival vessels have elaborate lounges and entertainment areas, including dance clubs, live music venues, piano bars, dining rooms, teen clubs, formal and casual restau
rants, outdoor entertainment venues, cigar bars, and fitness clubs.
These venues showcase everything from live bands and duos to karaoke and comedians.
Each facility holds various sizes of light and audio rigs which require a skilled operator to run and maintain. Entertainment technicians must be proficient in both lighting and sound.
Duties include operating equipment used in the evening entertainment, as well as daily shows and activities; maintaining strict safety standards, facilitating special group requests and ensuring that the rigs are fully maintained. Technicians are provided with shared shipboard
accommodations with one other team member of the same gender.
Entertainment Technician – Stage/Floor
All Carnival vessels house multi-level show lounges featuring elaborate sets and scenery. As ships have increased in size, so have the production sets. The majority of Carnival’s fleet utilizes state-of-the-art computer automation that controls a full fly rig. Stage technicians oversee all sets and scenery while coordinating five backstage workers who handle specific show tasks safely and in a timely manner.
